Complimentary Shuttle Service for Airport Transfer
A complimentary shuttle bus service between the airport and the Sola Strand Hotel (Clarion Hotel Air/Quality Airport Hotel) for our upcoming event. This service will be available on the following dates and times:

  • Sunday, June 2nd: Afternoon
  • Monday, June 3rd: Morning
  • Wednesday, June 5th: Afternoon
  • Thursday, June 6th: Morning

This free shuttle service is exclusively for registered participants.  Please ensure to send your flight schedule to Tomasz Skrzydło at tomasz.skrzydlo@uis.no before May 15th to secure your spot on the shuttle.

Reaching Sola Strand Hotel:

From the Airport:

  • By Bus: One of the most convenient ways to reach Sola Strand Hotel from the airport is by bus. The bus journey is relatively short and efficient, providing a hassle-free option for travelers. Upon arrival at the airport, look for the bus stops outside the terminal and check for the routes heading towards the hotel. Buses in this region are known for their punctuality and comfort.
    Bus Line: To travel from the airport to Sola Strand Hotel, you can use the Kolumbus bus services. The most commonly used routes are the 42 and 7 bus lines.
    • Bus 42 typically runs between Stavanger and Sola, passing through the airport. You can catch it from the designated bus stops at the airport.
    • Bus 7 also connects the airport with areas near the hotel. It's a less frequent service but could be a viable alternative depending on your arrival time.
  • Taxi Services: For those preferring a more direct route, taxis are readily available at the airport. A taxi ride to the hotel typically takes only a few minutes, making it a quick option. While more expensive than the bus, it offers the convenience of door-to-door service.

Traveling to Downtown Stavanger from Sola Strand Hotel:

  • Bus Line: For trips to downtown Stavanger, bus lines 42 and 7 are again your primary options. These buses offer frequent services to the city center.
  • Car Rentals: For those who prefer driving, car rental services are available at the airport and in the vicinity of the hotel. This option gives you the flexibility to travel at your own pace and explore the surrounding areas.

    Additional Tips:

    • Kolumbus Ticket Purchase: Tickets for Kolumbus buses can be purchased via the Kolumbus app, at ticket machines, or on board the bus. However, purchasing tickets through the app is often more convenient and can offer better rates.
    • Check Real-Time Schedules: Use the Kolumbus website or their mobile app to access real-time bus schedules, which can help in planning your journey more effectively.
    • Travel Card Option: If you plan to use public transport frequently during your stay, consider getting a Kolumbus travel card for ease of travel and potential savings.
